Virtual learndirect Centre |
|
Communicators Training Associates are recognised as a
‘VIRTUAL’ training learndirect centre in County Durham. A virtual centre
means that the learning is done at a time and place that suits the
individual. CTA have a sound infrastructure that supports our learners
from the beginning to the end of their learning journey. Our tutors and
trainers are fully qualified and skilled in the area they tutor/support.
Through or virtual centre we offer three different routes for
learning:
|
|
Virtual |
which
means everything is electronic and there is no need
to visit our centre. Learners will interact online
with their tutor – setting goals for their course
and reviewing their progress to the end.
|
Remote Learning |
| |
normally begins with some form of face to face contact – it
could be attendance at a presentation or induction. Once the
programme begins, the remote learner then follows the virtual
route ie interacting online with their tutor. Our learners
generally stem from the North East Region. |
Operational Learning |
| |
means there is some form of qualification attached to the
learning. This means the learner journey begins with face to
face contact and continues with some remote/virtual learning.
Once the learner reaches the desired goal, provision is made for
testing or assessment where our co-ordinators will support this
process. Most of our ECDL programmes are ‘operational’ . Most of
our operational work is done in companies throughout the North
East Region. |
Learndirect - Premier Business Centre
|
|
Due to the volume of Small to Medium Sized Businesses
(SME’s) we have worked with over the last 3 years , we applied to be
part of the ‘Enterprise Development Initiative’. Our
centre was successful and worked towards becoming a Learndirect Business
Premier Centres accredited by the Small Firms Enterprise. The role of
the Premier Business Centre is to provide an in depth service to SMEs
who wish to develop their business and staff. We have access to the
newly developed diagnostic tools which will make the whole process of
identifying needs and matching learners to courses much more
streamlined.
The newly developed ‘Business Snap Shop’ tool allows
our consultants to go into small business and carry out a full TNA
against the business. Utilising only one hr of the business time, the
business snap shot tool will produce a full analysis for the company
development which is fully mapped to the learndirect courses that the
company can use for Business and Individual development.
Courses that have supported Small Business include:
-
Sage Accounting
-
Cash is King
-
Health & Safety
-
Business Law and the environment
-
ICT – word processing, spreadsheets, database and powerpoint
-
Starting up your own business
-
Supervisory Skills, delegation
-
Train the trainer
The list is endless. Small businesses find that using
e-learning as a tool to develop their business and staff is a
convenient, flexible and most importantly cost effective way of doing
so. Individuals can learn at work, home or book into our centre to use
one of our machines. In some instances we offer evening facilities. (See
our full index of courses)
many
courses are FREE or have some form of ‘subsidised’ offer
